This culturally rich trip takes travelers to
Lhasa, the spiritual center of the country,
and off the beaten path exploring the
religion and countryside. In Lhasa, you will
visit ancient palaces and holy sites (the
Jokhang, Norbulinka, and Potala) and
nearby, the fascinating monasteries of Sera
and Drepung.
Driving out of the city, you visit
Drigung, an important monastery for sky
burials in Tibet, next is the charming
nunnery of Terdrum, with its hot springs;
and Reteng, for spectacular views of the
Tibetan snow-capped mountains. The trip
climaxes with a wonderful day enjoying the
festivities at the Nagchu Horse Festival.
