Weavings and Wanderings in Laos

This short journey into Laos begins with a boat ride up the Mekong to Luang Prabang. Here you can spend time in the ethnic villages around Luang Prabang, watch weavers and artists at work, picnic by idyllic waterfalls, and stop at village markets. Then you can catch a flight to Vientiane, and visit the capital city of Laos, before heading back to Bangkok and home.

Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1	Arrive in Bangkok None
Day 2	Fly to Chiang Rai and explore the area L
Day 3	Head to Chiang Kong; Take boat ride to Ban Houay Sai BLD
Day 4	Continue boat ride up towards Luang Prabang, stopping at Pak Ou Caves and Xang Hai BL
Day 5	Explore Luang Prabang and enjoy Batik workshop. BL
Day 6	Visit Khouang-Si Waterfalls and local villages BL
Day 7	Fly to Vientiane - visit Ho Pha Keo, That Luang, Patuxai, Textile Museum and Antique Lao Textile shop. B
Day 8	Tour Vientiane and more textile stores, or enjoy a meditation and Lao Sauna (Saturday only for meditation). BL
Day 9	Fly back to Bangkok B
